Privacy policy

Austin Jamily (“Jamily”, “we”) is a website that lists live music in Austin, Texas and lets members follow bands, venues and genres. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: hello@austinjamily.com.

What we collect

• Account details from the sign-in method you choose: your name, email address and profile photo (Google or Apple), your email address and a securely hashed password (email sign-in), or your mobile number (phone sign-in). If you use Apple's “Hide My Email”, we only receive Apple's relay address.
• Your choices on Jamily: bands, musicians, venues and genres you follow, shows you add to your calendar, and your email preferences (show reminders, new shows and weekly lineup, offers). We keep a record of when you turn each email type on or off.
• A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in. We don't use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers. Your browser may also store small preferences, such as whether you've seen a holiday or membership pop-up.
• Anonymous usage counts, like page views, searches and ticket-link clicks per day. These aren't tied to you. To prevent abuse we briefly keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, and we delete it within hours.

How we use it

• To run your account and personal dashboard, calendar feed and in-app alerts.
• To send the emails you've chosen, plus essential account emails (confirming your address, resetting your password). Every non-essential email has an unsubscribe option, and you can change your choices anytime in My Jamily.
• To keep the site secure and understand, in aggregate, which features people use.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers.

Services we rely on

These companies process data for us only to provide their service:

• Cloudflare: hosting, database and security.
• Google and Apple: sign-in, if you choose them.
• Resend: sending email.
• Twilio: texting sign-in codes, if you use phone sign-in.
• Spotify: playlists embedded on our pages. Spotify may set its own cookies when you play an embed.
• Meta (Facebook, Instagram) and TikTok: our public social accounts. We only publish posts to our own accounts. We don't receive data about you from them unless you contact us there.

Ticket links take you to the seller's or venue's own site, which has its own privacy policy.

Deleting your data

Email hello@austinjamily.com from the address on your account (or tell us the phone number you signed in with) and ask us to delete your account. We'll delete your account, follows, saved shows and email preferences within 30 days and confirm when it's done. We may keep a minimal record of an email unsubscribe so we don't email you again.

Keeping data

We keep account data while your account exists. Sign-in sessions expire after 60 days. Password-reset and confirmation links expire after one hour and 48 hours.

Children

Jamily isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. For significant changes, we'll notify members by email or on the site.
